The third annual Event Atlantic Excellence Awards Luncheon celebrated the achievements of individuals and organizations in the Event Tourism industry in Atlantic Canada.
Eight awards were presented, including accolades for events with varying budgets, Volunteer of the Year, Emerging Leader of the Year, Champion of the Year, and Corporate Partner of the Year.
For events with a budget of less than $100,000, The Mummers Festival took home the prize; Alick Tsui from Newfoundland and Labrador was named Volunteer of the Year; Cathy Duke, CEO of Destination St. John’s, was recognized as Champion of the Year.
Grant MacDonald received the prestigious Chair’s Award for his contributions to the development and promotion of Atlantic Canada as an event hosting destination.
The Excellence Awards were established as part of Event Atlantic’s 2021-2024 Strategic Plan to support the growth and sustainability of event tourism in the region.
