The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has issued a Request for Proposals for the planning and design of a new K-12 school in the Town of Cartwright.
The new school will replace the aging Henry Gordon Academy, which has been serving the community since 1969.
Upon completion of the design phase, the project will move forward with a single contract encompassing three stages.
The first phase entails the construction of a modern K-12 school, complete with a community library, pre-kindergarten space, and a gymnasium.
Simultaneously, the second phase will involve the abatement and demolition of the existing Henry Gordon Academy.
The third phase focuses on the development of a new parking lot and play/sports field in the area previously occupied by the old school.
