Some residents in Paradise are crying foul over receiving a municipal warning to remove their basketball nets from the roadway.
Victoria Stratton was taken aback when she found the warning notice attached to her basketball net by the municipal enforcement team. Social media comments reveal that around six or seven residents on the same street faced similar notices, while neighboring streets seemed unaffected.
Stratton points out the lack of basketball facilities for kids in Paradise, so many residents have purchased their own. Her net had happily adorned the street for the past five years without any trouble so she’s unsure why it’s suddenly an issue.
Stratton says she called the town but there hasn’t been any response. She says she just wants to know what the complaint is so that they can rectify it. She conveys that it’s not just a localized issue on her street, it becomes an issue for everyone in Paradise. “It’s not fair that we have to put it away but everyone else can carry on.”
