A slew of activities are on tap in the City of St. John’s this Canada Day including the annual fireworks show at Quidi Vidi Lake.
An afternoon of family fun is set to get underway from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. at King George V Park, with a variety of games, live entertainment, and food.
The events all lead up to the highly anticipated fireworks display by the lake.
Deputy Mayor Sheliagh O’Leary says the festivities will kick off at the Quidi Vidi bandstand at 8:00 p.m. with a live performance from Cabot Power leading up to the big show.
She says if the good weather continues to hold up, the fireworks will be set off at 10:00 p.m. O’Leary is reminding pet owners to keep their animals inside during the show to ensure their safety.
