The food fishery officially opens today.
From now through to Labour Day weekend, the fishery will be open from every Saturday to Monday throughout the province.
After the Labour Day long weekend in September there will be a short break before the fall season begins, running from Saturday, September 23 to Sunday, October 1.
Participants are limited to five groundfish per day, including cod, with a maximum boat limit of 15 groundfish where three or more occupants are fishing.
