PC Leader David Brazil is remembering former tory MHA Bill Marshall as a “stellar Newfoundlander and Labradorian.”
Marshall, who served as an MHA for 16 years during the 1970s and 80s, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 87.
Brazil describes Marshall as passionate and intelligent.
He recalls being in a room with Marshall and John Crosbie as they had an argument over the direction of the Atlantic Accord.
He says the two had mutual respect for each other and were able to come to a consensus.
Brazil says Marshall was held in high regard by former Premier Brian Peckford.
He remembers seeing the amount of input Marshall had, noting that he “never forgot where he came from.”
