The Town of Clarenville has issued a 24-hour non-consumption order for its drinking water.

The move was made following a vehicle crash that may have led to a small amount of fuel leaking into the town’s water supply along the Shoal Harbour River.

The town says while the risk is low, the order will remain in place until Monday afternoon as officials monitor water intake.

No details have been released regarding the crash or possible injuries.
