A company has settled with the Nunatsiavut Government and has issued an apology for trespassing on Labrador Inuit Lands.
As part of an out-of-court settlement, Big River Camps, which operates a sports-fishing camp near Makkovik, has issued an apology for expanding a route for vehicle access on Labrador Inuit Lands.
The lawsuit was launched in 2017 by the Nunatsiavut Government. They say they appreciate the acknowledgement that harm was done, and they hope to reconcile with the company.
They hope that other operators will have a deeper understanding of the significance of the Labrador Inuit Land Claims Agreement.
