Memorabilia from some of the province’s best-known films and TV shows has been lost to fire.

The Shadows of the Past private museum in Fermeuse burned to the ground early this past Saturday morning.

Owners Juanita Farrell and Reg Cole also lost their home in the blaze.

“They lost everything they had,” says close friend Michelle Wright.

“They have dedicated most of their lives, 40-plus years, to researching, collecting artifacts and antiques, and preserving Newfoundland’s history in this privately owned museum.”

The site had housed items that appeared in films and series such as Random Passage, The Shipping News, Rare Birds, Above and Beyond, Heyday!, Republic of Doyle and more.

Wright has organized a Go Fund Me campaign for the family and is open to suggestions and seeking volunteers to help with other fundraising ideas for Farrell and Cole.

“They desperately need our help,” says Wright.
