A taxi driver in Corner Brook was struck in the head early this morning by a passenger who used a wine bottle as the weapon of choice.
The incident happened on Central Street at about 2:30 a.m. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the driver’s injuries were minor.
The 24-year-old suspect fled on foot, but officers caught up with him and charged him with assault causing bodily harm. He will be back in court in October.
