One of the most anticipated music festivals of the summer gets underway tonight in St. John’s.

Gates open for the Churchill Park Music Festival kickoff today at 4:00 p.m.

The lineup is a who’s who of some of the province’s top acts including The Punters, Celtic Connection, Masterless Men, Rum Ragged, and the Irish Descendants.

Tomorrow night The Lumineers make their only Canadian stop on their current tour to headline night two. The opening acts are Fortunate Ones, TALK, and Cold War Kids.

The next weekend sees headliner Alanis Morisette do back-to-back shows. The opening acts for night one are Meg Myers and Metric, while night two will have Meg Myers and Feist take to the stage.
