Tonight is the night for a walking tour around some of the oldest streets in St. John’s.
The Operation Masonic/Ecclesiastical Circler Murder and Mystery Walking Tour is starting at the Basilica and visiting historic sites in the district including Gower Street United and The Kirk.
The tour is featured in the best-selling crime thriller “Operation Masonic” by Helen Escott. Organizers say it’s a unique experience that unveils some of the most exciting mysteries in Newfoundland and Labrador’s history – specifically, the history of freemasonry.

The tour finishes at the Sergeants’ Memorial in Veterans’ Square where Operation Masonic famously ends.
The walks begin at the Basilica tonight at 6:30 p.m. with tickets ($20) available at the Basilica until 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.
