The RCMP has confirmed the discovery of human remains found in a remote wooded area near Marches Point on the Port au Port Peninsula.
Police say the remains were discovered on Sunday, August 13.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is involved to help determine the identity of the remains and the cause of death.
No further information is being provided at this time. RCMP will provide an update once the Chief Medical Examiner’s work has concluded.
