The RCMP in Marystown have released more information about the arrest of Tony Farrell, a wanted man who had been at large for the better part of a month.
Farrell had been wanted since mid July, with reports indicating that he was armed.
On Wednesday night police, including the Emergency Response Team and the Explosives Disposal unit, surrounded a home on Ville Marie Drive in Marystown.
An RCMP crisis negotiator was also called to the scene.
They say Farrell was unwilling to cooperate and exit the home. Police forced their way inside and arrested him.
The next day they searched the home and found two firearms, as well as other items consistent with unsolved break and enters in the area.
Farrell is now facing numerous charges for the alleged offences. Those are dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, resisting arrest, and possession of stolen property.
The investigation is continuing, and police expect additional charges related to break and enter.
Farrell appeared in court Thursday and has been remanded to custody. His next court date is September 6.
