RNC are investigating numerous incidents of break-ins and “significant” property damage at the old Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on Portugal Cove Road in St. John’s.
The former long-term care residence closed its doors back in 2014 and has been sitting idle ever since.
The building was put up for sale in 2015, with a single bidder coming forward.
It has since deteriorated, becoming the target of vandals and a general eyesore in the area. Reports earlier this summer indicated the owner planned to have the building demolished, but that has yet to happen.
The RNC is asking anyone with video footage of suspicious activity in the area of the property over the last few months to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
