The Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation is reporting a slight increase in net earnings for the quarter ending July 1.
NLC is reporting net earnings for the quarter of $47.6 million, an increase of $0.2 million over the first quarter of the last fiscal year.
The dividend paid by NLC to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador totaled $48 million for the quarter, $5 million less than the previous year due to the timing of payments.
Cannabis sales saw double-digit growth driven in part to the approval of cannabis vape products late last year.
The NLC’s business plan for the next three years was approved by the provincial government in June.
