Porter Airlines is showing off a new aircraft that will be servicing the airline’s St. John’s-Toronto route beginning next week.
The 132-seat Embraer (E195-E2) is in St. John’s so that airport staff can get used to it and its features ahead of the inaugural flight to Toronto next Thursday.
In terms of further expansion in the province, Porter spokesperson Brad Cicero can’t give any specifics on what may be in the works, other than to say that they are focused on building their eastern Canadian network.
He says they have plans to grow significantly in North America, and that will open up the possibilities for destinations already being served—like St. John’s.
