The RNC is urging safety as the last long weekend of summer is upon us.
The Constabulary says Labour Day weekend comes with increased traffic, more people out and about on their ATVs and people taking to ponds and the open water in boats.
The RNC say operating a boat while impaired accounts for 40 per cent of all marine-related fatalities on Canadian waterways. Impaired boating, like impaired driving, is against the law.
As for ATVs the Constabulary recommends that people never drive an ATV while impaired, wear protective equipment, avoid driving an ATV in unfamiliar terrain and supervise riders younger than 16.
Expect an increased police presence on roadways this long weekend.
