The NDP say they will be participating in the province’s all-party committee on substance use and addictions, provided that a few conditions are met.
Government announced the committee yesterday, which comes on the heels of a spike in drug-related deaths over the last few months, and an emotional rally at Confederation Building last week.
Jim Dinn shared there are a few caveats that he wants to see met by the committee.
He wants to committee to be answerable to the House of Assembly and to report regularly to the House. As well, Dinn doesn’t want to see other initiatives and actions paused while the committee’s work is underway.
