The City of Mount Pearl is now in the process of analyzing data collected by a traffic camera pilot project conducted over the summer.
Traffic cams were set up in Paradise and Mount Pearl to monitor speeding. Those caught speeding were not issued a ticket, but a warning.
Mount Pearl Mayor Dave Aker says it may take months to analyze the data.
He says he hasn’t receive a single complaint in the last three months. The question now, is whether or not their use is deterring speeding.
Aker is reminding residents and those driving through Mount Pearl to be aware of their speed especially now that a new school year is set to begin.
