Two people were arrested and charged in connection with a drug bust in Bonavista on the weekend.

Forty-three-year-old Chad Ploughman of Bonavista and 36-year-old Jonathan Peters of Stock Cove were arrested following the search of a home on Sebastien Drive in Bonavista on Saturday.

RCMP say Ploughman and Peters were among a number of people arrested at the scene, and a quantity of drugs, cash and other items were seized, including vehicles.

Ploughman and Peters have each been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, while the others arrested were released without charge.

Police say Ploughman is already before the court on previous drug trafficking charges. He was held in custody while Peters was released on conditions.
