A man once acquitted of second degree murder is back before the courts.
After spending the weekend in jail, 29-year-old Lyndon Butler appeared in provincial court today to face weapons charges.

During a roadside checkpoint conducted by the RNC on Friday, Butler was arrested when police confiscated a handgun and ammunition from his vehicle.
Butler briefly appeared before a judge, however the case was set over until Thursday. He will remain in custody until then. He is being represented by lawyer Jerome Kennedy.

Five years ago, Butler was acquitted of second-degree murder in connection with the 2011 shooting death of Nick Winsor.
While Butler left court a free man, his co-accused, Phillip Pynn, was found guilty.
