Newfoundland Power confirms that the account numbers of customers have been changed, but it shouldn’t affect people’s ability to pay as of yet.
In a statement, the company says account numbers were changed as of August 14 due to the implementation of a new customer service system.
They say the new account numbers have been included on all electricity bills issued after that date.
For now, customers can use either their new account number or their old one to make payments, however things must be switched over by New Years Eve.
