An investigation into allegations of misconduct against a staff member at Pleasant View Towers long-term care home in St. John’s has determined that the allegations made were not founded.
The allegations, alleging inappropriate behavior towards residents, were made in anonymous letters.
The health authority says it launched what it calls a “robust” investigation September 6 when it became aware of the allegations, putting the staff member on leave while they conducted their probe.
NL Health Services says the staff member affected and all families and substitute decision makers were notified and they are working to reintegrate the employee back to the workplace.
They are now trying to find out where the anonymous letters came from.
They are offering their apologies to all those affected by the investigation.
