Two men from Goose Cove on the Great Northern Peninsula have been arrested and charged in connection with a recent drug bust in the community.

RCMP from St. Anthony, Roddickton and Port Saunders searched the home on Wednesday, September 13th, and seized a quantity of drugs, cash, contraband cigarettes and other items consistent with drug trafficking.

A 53-year-old man, who has not yet been named by police, is facing a single count of drug trafficking and was released to appear at a later date.

The other man, 34-year-old Troy McCarthy, is facing a list of drug charges including possession of and trafficking in cocaine, selling tobacco products, possession of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking and altering the chemical or physical properties of cannabis.

He was released on strict conditions to appear at a later date.
