The demands of climate activists were brought to the steps of Memorial University and Confederation Building yesterday.
The Fridays for Future Rally started off at the MUN clock tower before heading up the parkway to the steps of Confederation Building.

Those in attendance made three demands for government and MUN.
They ask that government end the subsidization of fossil fuel and exploration projects -with particular reference to Bay du Nord, that government invest in community-owned renewable energy projects, and that the university divest away from fossil fuels.
Claudia O’Brien was one of the young people who came out to the rally, believing that it’s an important cause.
She says young people need to use their voices and fight for the planet
