The provincial government has announced a new school for Kenmount Terrace, scheduled to be open by September of 2026.
The school, which is expected to include primary and elementary school grades, will be located on a piece of land on Ladysmith Drive, across from Petite Forte Drive.
$50 million has been set aside for the project.
Education Minister Krista Lynn Howell says it’s an exciting announcement.
Consultations are now underway to determine the exact grade configuration to best meet the needs of area students and families. The next step in the process will include a Request for Proposals for a consultant team to provide government with technical advice for a Design-Build tender package.
The announcement comes as Paradise families galvanize their efforts in lobbying for a high school in their community.
