When it comes to implementing pensions and benefits for early childhood educators in the province, the provincial and federal governments are not offering any concrete promises as of yet.
When questioned about the issue, Federal Minister of Families, Children and Social Development Jenna Sudds and provincial Education Minister Krista Lynn Howell both had the same response, that “nothing’s off the table.”

Howell says when consultations were held in this province the main issue they heard was around wages. They then moved “quickly” on items such as the wage grid and other subsidies.
She says pensions and benefits are tied in with that conversation, and as the discussions around recruitment and longevity continue, that will be part of the discussion.
