Tim Hortons confirms that the price of its popular hockey cards has increased in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Collectors are outraged after learning that the company is charging people in this province more for a pack of cards with the purchase of a coffee or beverage.
The price is advertised as $1.00, but in this province the price of a pack is actually $1.50. The price of a pack without a beverage purchase has gone from $1.99 to $2.99.
Tim Hortons says it’s the first time they’ve adjusted the price in this province since 2015.
Scott Sears, an avid collector, is part of a Facebook page for collectors in this province. He says people are very upset with the change.
He says from what they can gather, NL is the only area that’s seen the price increase, and some were told that this province is part of a “test market.”
As of today, the graphics advertising trading cards for $1.00 appear to have been removed.
