The RNC have confirmed the discovery of human remains in the area of the old Talc Mine in Conception Bay South.
The area was the scene of an intensive search effort late last month when a vehicle belonging to missing woman Anna Gaulton was found nearby.
The search failed to turn up any sign of the missing 78-year-old.
The RNC’s Forensic Identification Service and Major Crime Unit are on the scene.
