The provincial government is going to unveil a plan to address the housing crunch.
Premier Andrew Furey has called a news conference for 11:30 at Confederation Building. Furey says he will announce details of a five-point plan to stimulate new housing construction and help make housing more affordable in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Newly minted PC Leader Tony Wakeham says it’s “about time.”
“They made the same announcement back in 2017, and here we are six years later and now we’re finally going to hear something.”
The premier will be joined by NL Housing Minister Paul Pike, Vice-Chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association Stephen Short and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Home Builders Association-Newfoundland and Labrador Alexis Foster.
VOCM News will be there.
