A 42-year-old man was tracked down and arrested in Lethbridge, Bonavista Bay on the weekend after a commercial cube van, reported stolen from St. John’s, was found in the community.
Police received a report Saturday morning that the stolen van was spotted in Clarenville, and officers later located the van parked at a gas station in Lethbridge.
RCMP say the driver, Dylan Ryan who reportedly stole some items from the gas station, was approached on the parking lot, but he ran into a wooded area.
That’s when Police Service Dog Marlow was brought in. She tracked Ryan and found him hiding in the woods where he was taken into custody.
Ryan is now facing charges of possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and theft under $5,000.
He’s scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
