Three people are facing trafficking charges after a drug bust in Deer Lake.

RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation West pulled a car over on Sixth Avenue yesterday. The three occupants were arrested and searched. Officers found 28 grams of cocaine, cash and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking.

50-year-old Gary Campbell, 44-year-old Stephen Goudie and 22-year-old Chloe Young are now facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine. Young faces an additional charge of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

Young and Goudie were released to appear in court at a later date.

The arrest marks Campbell’s second arrest for drug-related offences since August. He appeared in court yesterday and was released on conditions.

The investigation continues.
