A new study out of St.FX University shows that Atlantic Canadian universities are falling short when it comes to campus alcohol policies.
Out of the 12 universities in the region, the average policy score was around 33 per cent.
Project lead Dr. Kara Thompson says while there is room for improvement, a few changes to each campus policy could see those scores improve by nearly 50 points.
Currently, the policies are difficult to find as they were distributed piece-meal across numerous documents says Dr. Thompson.
Each university has been provided with a detailed report on where they can improve. The results for each institution, including Memorial University, are not being released publicly – only as a collective.
