Government is introducing proposed amendments to the School Act to accommodate the absorption of the English School District into the Department of Education.

The changes include the dissolution of the district, its operations and successor in law and move to the Crown, update powers of the minister to include regulation making authority, and removing references to the board and replacing it with the Crown or the department (or conseil scolaire) as applicable.

The changes will complete the integration process.
