The City of Mount Pearl has received $6.5 million in provincial money for infrastructure upgrades.
The money will be split between upgrades to the Holden Street/Ingerman Street area, and a new community centre to replace Park Place.
As mayor Dave Aker explains, a new community centre has been in the works for some time, about three years, to be exact. He says the new facility will include a splash pad for the summer and skating rink for the winter.
