RCA Theatre Company is bringing back a beloved holiday traditional.
The Holiday Monologues are returning to the LSPU Hall after an eight year hiatus, as part of the Live Magazine series.
The contest sees local theatre artists submit monologues based around the holiday season for the chance to win a cash prize. First place gets $250, second place $150 and the next two runners-up will get $100 each. Previous winners include Steve Cochrane, Ruth Lawrence and Berni Stapleton.
The winning monologues will also perform during the Holiday Social on December 13, with Ruth Lawrence also reading her prized piece.
Artistic Associate with Resource Centre of the Arts Theatre Company, Laura Williams, says they are looking for all types of pieces, as long as it is holiday themed.
She says they can be fact or fiction, funny or sad. She says even if this is your first time submitting, they would love to see pieces from artists of all levels.
Submissions can be made to associate@rcatheatre.ca. The deadline is December 4.
