Heavenly Creatures are asking for the public’s support as the annual Pet Food Drive is underway.
Every year during the holiday season, the organization puts off the drive for the animals they take care of, as well as their pet food bank for low-income owners.
Co-founder and director of Heavenly Creatures, Jessica Rendell, says much like other food banks, they are seeing a significant increase in people availing of the service.
She says they are receiving an alarming number of calls from distraught people who say their animals haven’t eaten in two days or they’ve had to feed them cereal, or that their animals have eaten, but they haven’t in order to feed their pet.
Those looking to donate can do online or in-person at their Lemarchant Road location.
