The past chair of the Public Utilities Board lashed out at many people and organizations on Friday who he says could have made a difference in the Muskrat Falls fiasco when it mattered most.
Andy Wells was the chair in 2011 when they asked government for more time to do a proper review of the project. Government bypassed the P.U.B., a move which, essentially, allowed the project to proceed without much scrutiny.
Wells was especially critical of Newfoundland Power President and CEO Peter Alteen, and the President and CEO of Fortis at the time, 2011, Stan Marshall.
Marshall, the current President and CEO of Nalcor, has labelled the project a “boondoggle.”

Wells wonders where the critics were back in the day when the P.U.B. was trying to get an extension to do a report on the project.
He noted that not even the consumer advocate of the day said anything publicly.
