A second-year student at Memorial University is fed up with parking woes at the St. John’s campus.
Liam Caroll, who lives in Torbay, calls getting back and forth to the university a “nightmare”. He says there are no options to take public transit as he lives in Torbay, and parking permits are few and far between.
He’s had to rely on others to give him a lift to school, something he says is not ideal. Caroll says there are solutions that could be put in place by MUN.
He suggests Memorial partner with Metrobus to expand routes while providing all students with a bus pass as part of their tuition fees. If they can’t offer public transportation to everyone, Caroll says those living farther from campus should be given priority in obtaining parking permits.
