Winter tourism operations in the Clarenville area received a boost thanks to joint funding announced this week.
The Alpine Development Alliance Corporation received over $1 million in joint funding to help improve the White Hills Ski Resort. Upgrades have been made to the skill hill tow, magic carpet surface lift, snow-making equipment and main lodge and rental shop.
The Discovery Trail Snowmobile Association’s trail network from George’s Brook to Clarenville will be upgrades with $65,000 in federal funding, while the Clarenville Nordic Ski Club will receive more than $75,000 in joint funding to help with infrastructure and equipment to help improve ski trail conditions.
