The Nunatsiavut Government is planning to build a new airport to replace the existing airstrip in Nain.

The project will include a 1,830 metre gravel runway, an airport terminal, hangar and other infrastructure, including a 13 km access road.

The new facility will operate year-round.

The project is now going through the provincial environmental assessment process.
