CUPE President Sherry Hillier says it’s been a busy year for the union and they are looking forward to some downtime over the holidays.
CUPE represents more than six-thousand workers in health care, education, public housing, municipalities, university, child care, and more.
Hillier describes the union as one big family, made up of public sector workers, many of whom will be on duty during the holidays.
She says that CUPE aims to do anything they can to make Christmas that much more special for members and their families.
Hillier thanks the numerous members who will be working over the holidays, sacrificing their time with family.
She says that the true gift of Christmas isn’t found under the tree, but around it. According to Hillier, the presence of family is most important during the holiday season.
