The FFAW predicts a very difficult winter for harvesters and plant workers negatively affected by changes to EI qualifying criteria.

President Greg Pretty says despite the union’s pleas to federal government officials, no changes appear to be forthcoming.

He accuses the federal government of slighting seasonal workers who need their help.

“We haven’t given up on it,” says Pretty, “we’ve asked [Seamus]O’Regan for a meeting with our elected leadership to talk about the damage that they are about to inflict on this province.”
