A man is in custody after an incident at the Village Shopping Centre on New Year’s Eve afternoon.

Store security approached RNC officers in the area and told them of a person who they believed had stolen merchandise from a store. The suspect did not go quietly though as officers had to chase him on foot.

The 39-year-old has been charged with theft, resisting arrest, and breach of court orders. He will appear today.
