The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor is eyeing a multi-use recreational facility to replace aging infrastructure such as arenas and the pool.
Mayor Barry Manuel says they have many recreational improvements in the works this year including an expansion of the walking trail network. The central Newfoundland hub is also taking a look at the possibility of building a new facility to serve the region, not just the town.
The town council will approach government and neighbouring towns in the new year to gauge interest.
He says there is a need for such a facility rather than spending money on existing infrastructure which is beginning to age out.
