After being without gasoline for nearly two weeks, the first shipment of fuel will arrive in Change Islands sometime next week.
Gasoline is expected to be delivered to the island during the week of January 8. The news is welcomed by residents after the town’s only retailer had been unable to receive shipments from their supplier on Fogo Island since mid-December.
Mayor Paula Flood says they’re relieved that they can now guarantee all emergency services in the town are operational.
