A 40-year-old from Victoria in Conception Bay North has been arrested after speeding away instead of stopping for police in Carbonear.
RCMP attempted to pull the suspect vehicle over on Pondside Road in Carbonear early Thursday afternoon, but the vehicle sped away.
The driver got caught in traffic on nearby Powell Drive and police were able to catch up with him.
The accused is facing a charge of flight from police. RCMP say he was also found to be driving without insurance.
