It will be a blustery day across the island.
That will cause issues for Eastern Newfoundland, which saw an estimated 25-30 cm of snow fall yesterday. While official amounts are still yet to come in, Meteorologist with the Gander Weather Office, Justin Boudreau, says the snow depth increased by 23 cm in St. John’s.
Gusts of 60-80 km/h are expected for most of the day today, bringing with them blowing snow and reduced visibility on the roads.
He says the blowing snow will linger, meaning we are not entirely clear of stormy conditions yet—but it will be a nicer day than yesterday.
Unfortunately, Boudreau says the winds are expected to remain high today, tonight and all day tomorrow.
