It has been a tumultuous year for housing in Newfoundland and Labrador, but Minister Paul Pike hopes that one year from now the province will be in a much better place.
Pike has a list of things he hopes to achieve in the next 12 months.
That includes progress on shelters—including the number of shelters, beds, services the provide. As well, he’d like to see more transitional housing, wraparound services for those in need, and they would like to see the hub in Happy Valley-Goose Bay get underway.
In the meantime, Pike will officially open eight new NL Housing units in the Pleasantville area of St. John’s in a news conference called for Monday morning.
